Casely has reannounced a recall of over 429,000 units of its 5,000mAh Power Pods wireless power banks, urging consumers to stop using these devices immediately. This alert comes after the company and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC) received an additional 28 reports of overheating batteries, some leading to serious safety concerns.
Initially, the recall was issued in April 2025 following reports of batteries overheating, expanding, or catching fire, which resulted in six minor burn injuries. Notably, the recent updates include a tragic event involving a 75-year-old woman from New Jersey, who suffered severe burns from an explosion linked to the device, ultimately leading to her death due to complications from her injuries. The USCPSC has confirmed these incidents as reasons for the renewed warning.
In light of these developments, consumers are strongly advised to cease using the affected power banks and seek more information from the official channels to ensure their safety.
